My First Attempt at Scotch Meat Pies

Thinking of my Dad and my Grandma & Grandpa Ritchie who always served these...... and too far away from Ackroyd's Bakery, thought I'd give these a try! Yummmm!

I used beef, not lamb, as listed on the Ackroyd's menu.  I think I got the meat seasoning just right and the crust was good - but I rolled it a little to thick.  The taste was great though!  How exciting!

Oh, my gosh! I used to make those and they are so good. I know why the Scotch have to watch their cholesterol though! They look wonderful and I'll bet you are getting some great sentimental memories. The love you felt while making them makes them even better!

Looks like a good attempt at making your own! Ackroyd's Scottish Bakery uses beef in their meat pies. We also make pork pies. And we ship if you're too far away, just give us a call. :)
